Mercedes seeks FIA rule clarifications

– Mercedes has requested clarification from the FIA stewards at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix over a number of subjects, including the extensive partnership between Ferrari and the arriving Haas F1 Team.Haas, operating from the US, UK and Italy, will run Ferrari power units and gearboxes – along with an array of car parts purchased from the Italian manufacturer – during its debut Formula 1 season in 2016.Haas has also been using Ferrari's wind tunnel extensively for the development of its maiden car.In a letter from Mercedes chief Paddy Lowe to the FIA on October 15, the brand sought answers on when an external entity entering F1 for the first time becomes a competitor, as well as...
