Sirotkin hopeful of securing F1 reserve role

Former Sauber test driver Sergey Sirotkin is hopeful of securing a reserve role in Formula 1 next year. Sirotkin first came to attention in F1 when he joined Sauber in 2013 at the age of 17, with a view to claiming a full-time race seat in 2014. Although Sirotkin failed to start a grand prix, he did enjoy a practice run-out in Russia last year before parting company with Sauber. In 2015, Sirotkin enjoyed a strong debut season in GP2, finishing third in the championship standings behind Stoffel Vandoorne and Alexander Rossi.
