Video: Kamui Kobayashi breaks lap record at Tsukuba
Former F1 racer Kamui Kobayashi took the wheel of his Super Formula car to make an attempt at setting the fastest lap ever at the Tsukuba Circuit. Kobayashi, who raced for Toyota, Sauber & Caterham over five seasons in Formula 1 between 2009 & 2014, returned to his native Japan when the Caterham team folded at the end of 2014. Racing for Team LeMans in the Japanese Super Formula series, Kobayashi took three podium places to finish 5th in the Driver's Championship. Super Formula Evolving from Formula Nippon, Super Formula has reached the end of its second season and is enjoying a burst in popularity due to attracting some big names.
