Marchionne may be contemplating a takeover of Sauber by Alfa Romeo

 XPB Images Fiat Chrysler boss and Ferrari CEO Sergio Marchionne is open to Alfa Romeo returning as a manufacturer to Formula 1. Marchionne apparently believes the historic brand's prestige could be boosted worldwide by an involvement once again in Grand Prix racing where it last competed in 1985. "Formula 1 is the maximum technological expression of the automotive world and so considering the objectives of Alfa Romeo, I think the option of returning should be considered," said Marchionne in Shanghai, according to Italy's Autosprint.
