Fernando Alonso: “I hope we can achieve the potential we can see in our package”

It was another weekend without points for the McLaren F1 team at the 2016 Chinese Grand Prix, and Fernando Alonso felt that the pace just was not there in the MP4-31. The Spaniard is hopeful however, that the squad will be able to maximise their potential for the upcoming race at the Sochi Autodrom, in Russia this weekend. “It doesn’t feel like it’s been too long since we last came to Sochi, but I’m looking forward to comparing last year’s car performance with the MP4-31’s. Our car feels very positive, and our progress is encouraging, but I hope we can achieve the potential we can see in our package and put in a promising performance on Sunday, which is when it all counts....
