Nico Rosberg topped the opening practice session for the Russian Grand Prix on Friday morning to continue his strong form from the opening three races, easily beating team-mate Lewis Hamilton to the top spot. The Mercedes drivers were the first to set a time during the 90-minute session with Hamilton setting the early pace, but Rosberg was quickest as they switched to the softest compound available and remained at the top when the checkered flag fell.
