McLaren has made some changes to the brake drum in Russia, changing the shape, position and orientation of the the apertures that help maintain the temperatures. The teardrop-shaped outlets (inset) that ordinarily allow heat from the disc to escape and then radiate into the wheel have instead been replaced by much larger apertures. These apertures don't expose the disc and, rather than allowing heat to radiate from the disc, it would appear that airflow collected by the main inlet is directed here to cool the tyre's shoulder.
