McLaren-Honda duo Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button have finally pipped reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne in the Drivers Championship table after scoring their first points at the Russian Grand Prix. Alonso finished the GP at the Sochi Autodrom in 6th place, his best ever result in the last 13 races, while teammate Button placed 10th. Despite being aided by the first lap chaos that ensued, the Spaniard claimed that although they were lucky they were able to take advantage of the carnage, their result was based on merit.
