Monaco FP2: Ricciardo way ahead chased by Mercedes duo

Daniel Ricciardo, with the new-spec Renault engine, ended the first incident packed day of free practice at the Monaco Grand Prix fastest of all by a whopping half second. Next best at the end of FP2 were Mercedes pair of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, sandwiched by the second Red Bull of Max Verstappen in fourth place – the Spanish Grand Prix winner using the older-spec engine. Next up were the Toro Rosso duo of Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz, fifth and sixth respectively. Kimi Raikkonen finished seventh fastest with Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel in ninth, which suggested that the Maranello outfit have yet to show their true hand or are in serious trouble.
