EXPLAINED: The pit-lane error that cost Red Bull victory

Monaco GP: Red Bull Racing presented the victory to Lewis Hamilton when a communication error meant the Red Bull crews were not ready for Daniel Ricciardo when he pitted from the lead. KAHRAN VOHRA explains the communication problem that cost Daniel Riccardo victory. Unlike the other 20 races, in Monaco the pit-wall is above the team garages, rather than the usual position of being opposite the teams pit box. An LCD screen inside the garage indicates to the pit crew when their driver is coming in, and provides details such as the driver which is coming in, the tyre compound to be fitted and any front-wing adjustments to be made.
