Daniil Kvyat: “Sometimes things like this happen”

After having a quick car all weekend long in Monaco, it all went wrong on race day for Daniil Kvyat, with an electrical issue seeing the young Russian lose a lap early before he collided with Kevin Magnussen at Rascasse to end his completely. The Scuderia Toro Rosso driver had done well to qualify inside the top ten during Saturday’s qualifying session, but was forced to pit twice on the opening couple of laps due to an electrical issue, which lost him a lap to the field. Kvyat then attempted to make moves to unlap himself, but found Magnussen unwilling to yield, which resulted in the Toro Rosso and the Renault colliding, with Kvyat retiring in the pit lane and being handed a post-race...
