Pascal Wehrlein: “It's been a challenging weekend”

Pascal Wehrlein finished thirteenth on the road in the Monaco Grand Prix, but two ten-second penalties saw him drop behind Romain Grosjean to fourteenth. The Manor Racing driver was penalised by the stewards for failing to stay below the minimum time during the virtual safety car period, and then for failing to adhere to blue flags whilst being lapped, meaning that keeping Haas driver Grosjean behind him until the chequered flag counted for nothing. Wehrlein felt his early strategy to go long on the extreme wet Pirelli tyre was the right one, but was disappointed with the penalties to drop him to fourteenth.
