Williams unofficially break F1 top speed record in Baku

Grand Prix of Europe – Williams have unofficially broken Formula One’s top speed record in Baku, as Valtteri Bottas was clocked at 378kph (234mph) in qualifying. Bottas was slipstreaming Max Verstappen’s Red Bull when he reached this speed. Although the speed trap registered the Finn at 366.1kph (227.484mph) as he crossed the start/finish line, Williams claim he continued to accelerate to the record-breaking speed before braking for Turn 1.
