Capito set for Spa debut as McLaren CEO

Volkswagen director of motorsport Jost Capito says he is expecting to begin in his new role as McLaren CEO ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix in August. McLaren announced Capito's appointment in January, though the switch to Woking would only go ahead once a successor was in place at VW. With eight rounds of the 2016 F1 season already completed, Capito says he expects to start work in his new role with McLaren during the mid-season shutdown ahead of the Spa round. “It will be the end of August, beginning of September, something around that region,” Capito confirmed to reporters at the FIA Sport Conference in Turin.
