The FIA has confirmed that Ferrari has used an engine token ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix, as revealed by Motorsport.com yesterday. With Ferrari pushing hard to make the step it needs to properly challenge Mercedes, it elected to unleash a power unit update for the Red Bull Ring. In a note sent to teams on Friday morning, the FIA stated that Ferrari had spent one of its remaining development tokens.
