Jolyon Palmer: “It was a typical Friday for us on track”

Jolyon Palmer enjoyed his track time on Friday at Silverstone despite again struggling towards the lower reaches of the midfield during both practice sessions. The Renault Sport F1 driver is hopeful that the traditionally unsettled British weather can give the team a chance as Palmer ended up sixteenth in first practice and eighteenth in FP2, around where the former GP2 Series champion has been for pretty much the whole season so far. “Silverstone is a great track, with loads of great fans and I enjoyed driving out there today,” said Palmer. “It was a typical Friday for us on track. “We tried out two different tyre compounds and low fuel levels, plus a run on high fuel.
