FIA – Radio rules clarified

The FIA have released statements that are meant to help clarify the currently confusing and unsafe radio rules….     It now states teams are allowed to tell the driver to select driver defaults but only where it would cause a loss of function that the sensors built in would not detect and resolve itself.   “this must be for the sole purpose of mitigating loss of function of a sensor, actuator or controller whose degradation or failure was not detected and handled by the onboard software.”   The statement followed saying   “It will be the responsibility of any team giving any such instruction to satisfy the FIA technical delegate that this was the case...
