Raikkonen wins 'Driver of the Day' award

Hungarian Grand Prix – Kimi Raikkonen has won the official Formula 1 'Driver of the Day' award for his drive in Budapest on Sunday. Raikkonen overcame a poor qualifying session that saw him start from just P14 on the grid. However, having the option to start on whatever tyres he chose, he ran the Soft compound Pirellis while almost all the drivers ahead ran the SuperSofts. Getting past fellow Soft tyre runner Sergio Perez on the opening lap also was crucial as Raikkonen was able to run at his own pace once the cars in front of him began to pit.
