Vettel positive but wants 'steps forward'

– Sebastian Vettel described a "positive" opening day of practice in Germany but still feels that Ferrari needs to make significant progress.Vettel was Mercedes' nearest challenger at Hockenheim in FP1 and FP2, ending the day seven tenths back on the combined timesheets.Although he gave Ferrari the upper hand over Red Bull, which is now just a point adrift in the standings, he says much more is required."Overall the outcome of the sessions has been positive, but we need to improve our car overnight and do some steps forward," said Vettel."I think the one-lap speed was OK, I haven't seen much from the long runs, I have spent most of the afternoon on Soft tyres...
