Rosberg leads Mercedes 1-2 in FP1 as Halo makes testing return

Nico Rosberg has hit the ground running after the summer break by topping free practice one, going faster than teammate Lewis Hamilton by 0.730s. Just behind Hamilton, Raikkonen finnished the session 0.799s adrift whilst Force India made a promising start to the weekend, Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg finished 4th and 8th respectively – splitting them were Sebastian Vettel and the two Red Bulls of Ricciardo and Verstappen. Rosberg, Hulkenberg, Ricciardo and Sainz hosted a return of the halo device after the summer break, with the FIA trying to bring a device becoming operational in two year's time.
