Bite-size tech: Sauber front brake duct and floor
So far we've covered Sauber's new front wing, nose, sidepod airflow conditioners, turning vanes and rear wing but today we're turning our attention to a few more of the changes it has introduced at the Belgian GP. Front brake duct Aside from the brake duct's role in providing cooling for the brakes, the regulations also permit the placement of fins to help manage airflow discarded by the tyre as it rotates. The new specification sees the inlet moved down slightly (red arrow), allowing space for a new winglet to be placed in the upper corner (highlighted in yellow), whilst the shape of the main vertical element has also been moved away from the tyre following a trend set out by other teams...
