Williams lose out during safety car period

Belgian Grand Prix – The Williams team were left to rue missed opportunities after a low-scoring Belgian Grand Prix, which saw them lose out to Force India in the constructors' championship. After a problematic qualifying session yesterday, Williams were hoping to gain some positions during the course of the race. However, a mistimed pit stop and excessive tyre wear were the main factors behind a difficult race for the team. Valtteri Bottas fell foul of the timing of the safety car deployment. With the team predicting a red flag, Bottas was instructed to stay out, only for Williams to change their mind and bring the Finn into the pits, believing that the race would soon be resumed....
