Bottas finishes fastest on Day 2 of Barcelona test

Valtteri Bottas ensured that Mercedes finished on top of the time sheets after the second day of in-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Finn set a time of 1:16.904s in the W09 on the supersoft compound just before lunch. It compared to Lewis Hamilton's Spanish Grand Prix pole time of 1:16.173s at the weekend. Bottas was over half a second up on the fastest time set on Tuesday by Red Bull's Max Verstappen. Having completed 60 laps in the morning, he added another 79 after the break for a total of 139 laps of the 16-turn, 4.655km (2.892 mile) venue on Wednesday.
