McLaren confirms start date for F1 chief Andreas Seidl

McLaren has confirmed a starting date for Andreas Seidl in his new role as the Formula 1 team’s Managing Director. McLaren revealed last month that it had recruited Seidl from Porsche to lead its Formula 1 operation, but a start date had not been set. On Tuesday it confirmed that Seidl will take up his new position at the start of May. It means the Spanish Grand Prix – the fifth round of the season – will be the first event at which Seidl attends in the new role. “We're delighted that Andreas is able to join the team on 1 May,” said McLaren Chief Executive Zak Brown. “This enables us to continue the momentum of our recovery plan and we’re...
