McLaren have no more plans for Alonso in 2019

McLaren team principal, Andreas Seidl, has confirmed Fernando Alonso will not be in their Formula 1 car again this season. After leaving his McLaren seat at the end of the 2018 campaign, Alonso remained on as an ambassador for the team in a role which included on-track duties. He took part in a Pirelli tyre test for McLaren back in Bahrain, but that is now as far as his on-track involvement will go this season despite now being free of Indy and WEC commitments.
