Masi installed as F1 race director for rest of 2019

Michael Masi Michael Masi has revealed that he will retain the role of Formula 1 race director for the rest of the current season. Masi received the shock call-up when his predecessor, Charlie Whiting, died on the eve of March’s Australian Grand Prix, but his appointment had not been made permanent. Speaking to media at Silverstone in his now customary debrief, Masi was asked about his role and if there had been any developments. “There has been, following a meeting with the (FIA) president Jean Todt on Saturday, he’s advised me and the FIA team that I will be continuing in the role until the end of the 2019 season,” said the Australian.
