FIA president Jean Todt says they are considering introducing an F1-style superlicence system into junior series. Since 2015 a points system has been in place to offer a certain number of points to drivers in major championships, based on their finishing positions. These points, along with the requirement of being over 18 and having at least two years of experience in junior single-seaters, allows drivers to obtain a superlicence and compete in F1.
