The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix demonstrated that Formula 1 can survive, even thrive, without controversial DRS which has become de rigour in the modern era of the sport. That is the view of 1997 F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve, an outspoken critic of the artificial overtaking system.
