Renault still aiming to promote junior driver to F1 for 2021

Renault says it remains confident that it will have one of its junior drivers competing in Formula 1 for the 2021 season, in order to achieve its long-term target. Renault revived its young driver scheme when it returned to Formula 1 as a works team in 2016 and has juniors competing in several championships. Lead youngster Guan Yu Zhou finished seventh in the Formula 2 standings while Christian Lundgaard, who is set to join Zhou in Formula 2 in 2020, classified sixth in the Formula 3 championship.
