Renault has confirmed that Pat Fry is due to join the team as their new technical director on February 5. Fry has a vast amount of experience after first beginning work at Benetton in 1987. After leaving in 1993, he spent the next 17 years at McLaren holding various titles  – including being the main engineer for the likes of Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard. Fry has also been a part of the teams at Ferrari and Manor Racing before returning to McLaren in 2018 as an engineering director on a temporary basis.
