Romain Grosjean has described Haas’ F1 future as the “elephant in the room” in regard to planning beyond the end of this year. Speculation has been rife about whether team owner Gene Haas may decide to pull the plug on his F1 project, having failed so far to carry the fight to the leading constructors since their arrival in 2016. So far this term, Haas and Williams are the two teams not to have scored points at either of the first two races of the season in Austria.
