Sole DRS zone for Formula 1's inaugural Algarve visit

The FIA has confirmed that just a single DRS zone will be in use for this weekend’s Formula 1 Portuguese Grand Prix. Formula 1 is returning to the country after a 24-year absence and is doing so at the Algarve-based Portimao circuit, which has never hosted a world championship round. The 4.653km 15-turn circuit will have a sole DRS zone along the main straight. The detection point will be 65 metres after the long-radius Turn 14 hairpin and the activation point will be 125 metres after the high-speed Galp curve that leads drivers onto the pit straight.
