Williams boss comments on Latifi's poor form amid axe rumours

Williams team principal Jost Capito has come to the defence of Nicholas Latifi after a troubled start to the 2022 campaign for the Canadian. Latifi has suffered three significant crashes so far this season, with two of them coming in one weekend in Saudi Arabia, before a bizarre crash with Lance Stroll in qualifying in Australia proved symptomatic of a wretched run of form. An issue in practice during the inaugural race in Miami will not have helped his acclimatisation to the 2022 car, but he qualified only marginally behind team-mate Alex Albon, before completing a clean Sunday.
