De Vries backed for Williams as late contender emerges

GPFans Staff Thursday 29 September 2022 20:05 Williams recently confirmed that Nicholas Latifi will depart the team at the end of the season but who will replace the Canadian? Latifi struggled to match George Russell during their two years together and he has again been found wanting in partnering Alex Albon this F1 season. Being thoroughly outclassed by Nyck de Vries at Monza, with the Dutch driver making his race debut as a late substitute for Albon, was viewed as the final nail in the coffin.
