When the regulations underwent a major change ahead of the 2022 season, the teams were sent back to the drawing board to think of some brand new and inventive concepts. The sidepods were a major point of debate, with Mercedes going for a zero sidepod approach while Red Bull went for a more detailed and pronounced design.
