‘Oh bugger': George Russell interview derailed by post-qualifying incident

Mercedes driver George Russell was speaking to Sky Sports after an impressive qualifying performance in Melbourne put him in P2 on Sunday’s starting grid, excitedly discussing his success. Having literally run to the paddock to talk about the team’s return to the front row for the first time in the 2023 season, Russell had to halt his interview when a car burst into flames in the pit lane at the Albert Park Circuit.
