Starting grid for the 2023 F1 Australian Grand Prix

Starting alongside him will be George Russell in an unexpected front row for the Mercedes driver. Lewis Hamilton continues the Mercedes-flank alongside the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso. Sergio Perez starts from 20th after crashing out of qualifying with a brake issue, and will be looking to work his way through the field. Home favourite Oscar Piastri starts from 16th on the grid for McLaren. The starting grid below is provisional until confirmed by F1's governing body, the FIA.
