Marko warns Verstappen: Penalty points could risk 2025 title bid

14/12/2024 at 08:1213/12/2024 at 19:23 Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has issued a clear warning to Max Verstappen, reminding the freshly crowned F1 world champion that he will head into the 2025 season with the threat of a race ban looming. Following his collision with Oscar Piastri in last weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Verstappen was handed a 10-second penalty and two penalty points by the stewards. The Dutchman took exception – in no uncertain terms – with the time sanction, but after the race he made no reference to his superlicence points tally. Under FIA regulations, a driver who accumulates 12 penalty points within a rolling 12-month period...
