Like a Jedi, each artist must craft his own weapon. I can't say when it should happen, but an artist will know when it's time. For me, the time is now; I'm a late bloomer. The weapon I'm talking about is our trusty palette. Until we reach the point of crafting our own, we make due with a variety of weapons...mostly cheap store-bought ones....
Yatterings of an Autumnpuma
Ah, offal. No coincidence it's pronounced 'awful' is it? But let me back up a moment. I like to screw television. No, not the actual machinery (ouch!) but rather the networks that put on asinine programs and the pay-cable-companies that charge way too much for different asinine programs. Can we have a system where I can pick and choose my...
Well, the shouts now resounding through the hallowed halls of TF1 herald yet another debate about Global Warming. One side maintains that we can figure out weather patterns of a planet that's a few billions of years old with 200 years worth of data and the other side is reducing the opposition to a religious cult. I think you all are missing a critical...
I never really knew my dad, but I had five uncles that tried to raise me. They mostly did a good job, but with five different influences upon me it's no surprise that I'm a bit....eccentric....but that's for a different blog entry. Back to my uncles. Well, they tried (and still try) to impart fatherly wisdom to me. Mostly I've listened. I...
I've just received my first pair of glasses. I wouldn't have thought that I needed them, but the Almighty Optometrist needs to pay for his Beemer, so I dutifully bought the bits of metal and glass he was hawking. After many eye tests that included a spit-and-polish of my eyeball (or so it seemed), and being nearly blinded by bright lights shone...
Well, because of the way copyright laws are, I won't be posting much serious art here (when I get my site up and running again, I'll put a link to it here). I can, however, post little doodles and stuff.
Doodles and stuff are the bread and butter of any artist. From those little brain-dribblings you get the more impressive, finished pieces....

Where has the Old Guard gone? I look around this and other forums and I can't spot them. The Old Guard were advocates for racing. Advocates for sport. F1, it seems, has been invaded by the soccer fans and the Old Guard have left them to it. Those soccer fans that don't feel quite comfortable unless they can live in a cozy cocoon of rules,...
Well, I saw Rembrandt paint today. And Rubens. No time travel involved, I promise. I didn't meet Spock in a snowy cave and pilot his ship back to the 1500s, nor did I steal a DeLorean. I went to a museum. Funny how I claim to be an artist yet I've never gone to an art museum. What could those dead guys teach me anyway? Quite a bit, it turns out....
So, where the heck was I? Between you, me and the fencepost I was....distracted. On purpose. As in, "life has gotten too damned complex and I need a distraction". Right around January I found that I had over-extended myself and was juggling far too many things. I suppose I realized that when I unexpectedly dropped all of those things quite messily...
