UCAS form is finally done, paid for, sealed and the deal is (hopefully) done. The internal deadline was the first, I handed my money in, but it seems most people have missed it. Sucks for them, but I'm only really worried about myself at the moment, and I guess it's the only way to think with Universities places getting more competitive. Obviously I wouldn't kill a friend to get a position over him/her, but it's their prerogative to get theirs sorted.
I did have one problem though. A week before the internal deadline (in the holidays, conveniently enough), I found that the Uni I want to go to had suddenly discontinued my first choice of course, which was communications. Fortunately, there's a course that includes quite a lot of the things that my first course offered, and some more very interesting sounding things, which is PR and communications.
Still unclear as to what we're going to have to pay as tuition fees, so many figures and different ideas have been put out by rival sides of the Government recently, unlimited fees, graduate tax, up to £9000 a year, etc, etc. I've tried to put it to the back of my mind for the meantime, it is worrying, but I can't let it distract me from my studies, and what will be will be. Unless every student takes to the streets and riots like crazy (not totally out of the question of course) I doubt that much will change.
So my goal really is to be involved in motorsport journalism at some level in the future, or even now on the PR side of things for a team/driver. I've gained two new opportunities to show off my writing in the space of a couple of days, which is very good. One is still up in the air and I'll find out within the next month as to whether I've got the "gig" or not. One's for the school newspaper and the other one which is still not set in stone yet is for the local newspaper, which is offering a place to any would-be journalists. So overall, I'm excited about that and hopefully will like what I have to say.
So yeah, that's about it. Hope everything is fine with everybody.
