It's a pain for the common folk to eat well if you follow developments in nutrion. First, there is the carbs/fats/proteins and the calories. Second, the actual foodstuffs are hard to identify from what-have-become abstracts like carbs/fats/proteins/calories. Last, there are the complex menus that are impossible to follow unless one has a cook on payroll.
So, here is the list of actual food that's good for you in the sense of complete from the standpoint of nutrients. I like to simplify and it doesn't get better than this:
01. Lettuce.
02. Walnuts (or almonds if you must).
03. Olive oil.
04. Berries (cranberry, etc).
05. Tuna (or salmon if it's imperative for you).
06. Cacao (in the form of chocolate it's ok but never less than 3/4 cacao).
07. Raw garlic.
08. Raw ginger.
09. Yogurt.
10. Lentils.
11. Broccoli.
12. Butter.
If there is interest, I'll tell you how to easily combine as many of these as possible in as few recipes as possible.
Note that it's been known for a long time (almost 100 years or thereabouts) that nutrient-rich low-calory diets yield, in general, better health and longevity. Also note that there is no conexion, in this context, between such diet and weight-lose or muscle-gain.
Gotta get my 4 hours sleep now.
