It's Been A While

9th June 2012 was my last post here before I embarked on a summer of madness. A summer that transformed me from the young kid of the forums into a man. A summer containing a ridiculous excess of alcohol consumption, sun burnt skin & projectile vomiting. When getting off that Ryanair flight from Faro Airport back to miserable rainy old Dublin, I emerged a different being (lol jk I'm the same idiot I've always been except I can handle my drink a lot better).

I suppose now is the time to explain my long absence from the forums. It has mainly been due to the fact that I started college back in September and has distracted me from posting here. It's a foundation course & not a degree course as I didn't work hard enough (at all) in school. I'll need a lot of distinctions & a miracle to get into University from this course. I loved it at first; the college lifestyle, the fact that you didn't have to be in all the time & I got to meet new people, nice ones too.

More recently though, it's been Sh#t. Half the course don't turn up & a huge pile of boring & vague assignments are just flying around everywhere. Also the friends I normally hang around with are all in different colleges with their different college friends so I spend most of my time alone in my house. It doesn't help with the fact that nearly everyone in my course lives more than 10 km away from me.

Although this hasn't affected my interest in F1 though. I was glued to BBC & Setanta towards the entire season & by August I genuinely hadn't a clue who was gonna be the winner. I thought at first Alonso would nip it but hey presto! Vettel found an extra gear & BOOM! Youngest triple world champion in history! Good on ya Seb!

Will post a lot more regularly now especially with the new season getting closer & closer. It's also nice to see some of the old regulars are still floating around posting their ridiculous segments on the F1 proceedings. Can't wait for the next big argument about whether it was Hamilton's fault or not, or how drunk Kimi will be if he wins the Monaco GP.

So eh....yeah. Can't quite think of a good closing line for this rare blog. And to think I told one of my lecturers today that "I never blog". HA

Time To Dust Off Das Blog

Tis ben 11 months since my last blog entry & f**k all has happened for 9 of them months. Still have my Saturday & Sunday Sports Shows & Thursday slot from 6-7PM (thought i'd give it a plug :) ) & the past 2 months has been all about driving.

Passed theory test in August, gots me a car courtesy of aunt & uncle, no need to pay for it, a 2000 reg Nissan Micra, in LFC red too :D . Insurance?? No prob, Mammy works in insurance & gots me a good deal of around €2k which is great compared to the ~€4-7k for provisional licensed drivers.

Been driving in it 2 days now & finding it pretty nice, still stalling it the odd time & doing wheelspin starts at traffic lights but that's part of learning...isn't it?? Anyhoo, couldn't of had a betterr passenger next to me for 2 days, my Dad aka. ex-BMW driver meaning he owns the road (& still does in his 7-seater Honda). Was even on motorway today (sssshhhhh don't tell the Old Bill), hit 80mph & it was great but nerves were shattered & wheel was wobbly but tis only a Micra sure.

So yeah, before August, f**k all, now as we approach Crimbo, learning the joys of motoring, trying to get me a job, it's all mad, especially over here in this sh1thole due to the fact we're being run by a "drunk moron", which is actually a complement for "Biffo". Hopefully someone will look at my CV, hire me & I'll get me some money but for now, I wait for a phone call or e-mail to come through & I have plenty to look forward to, COD Black Ops being the most looked forward to :D :D . Still haven't pre-ordered though  !

My 2 Cents On Idiocracy

I've been starting to think that the idiocracy on the TF1 forums is getting out of hand! Their are certain members who just do not stop embarrasing themselves & it's getting to a point where it used to be a lot of fun but now it's getting annoying saying pretty much the same things to these members (not mentioning any1 cos then they'll post here with even more BS).

There are lots of idiots in the forums but most of em are funny & you can associate with them but others aren't funny at all & you can't get along with them like have jokes with em & I think the best thing to do is for Bruce or ecap to stand up & ban these unhumorous dopes who just ask for abuse & then get other members warned but then I guess its the other members fault for acting childish!

But hey, that's just my opinion, what about you guys?? Do you think unrelating, stupid & members with no sense of humour should be banned??

Ps3 Blog

Been long time since I talked about my PS3! Games I got are Call of Duty 4 currently the best online multiplayer game I've played currently on prestige 3 out of 10 & for whoever has a PS3 & doesn't have it get it ASAP cos u missing out! Gots GTA4, don't play it alot cos stuck on a mission! Online it's OK but sometimes boring! Dowloaded GT5 Prologue which is great! I don't play it alot cos I also got Race Driver GRID but doing great with an Evo X! As for GRID it's good but online it's crap cos everybody just rams into you & I think Codemadters tried too hard with the graphics & I can also do a lap in Circuit de la Sarthe in an Audi R10 TDi in 2:50 seconds with chicanes! Finally I downloaded Battlefield Bad Company demo which is a single player & multiplayer demo & is brilliant! 1.6 GB big so I recommend you download it overnight! Full game is coming out this month so will be saving up!

New Vette Zr1 Put To The Test

Just saw on http://rsportscars.com the new Chevy Corvette ZR1. What it appeares they've done is taken a C6 with a 6.2 litre V8, a bodykit an engine modification & a big supercharger & it's the fasest ever Corvette! 0-60mph & top speed records are'nt available but it has 620bhp & 595lb-ft of torque, it's actually on my new avatar but here's a bigger view

Well lets get these tests on:

Challenge 1- ZR1-v- new '08 Dodge Viper

The new upgraded Viper looked pretty good & deserving from that huge 8.3 litre V10. Lets compare:

Power: ZR1: 620bhp Viper: 600bhp
Torque: ZR1: 595lb-ft Viper: 560lb-gt
Weight: ZR1: 1519kg (3350lbs) Viper: 1565kg (3450lbs)
So the new Corvette seems to be better in every way with 20 more bhp, 35 more lb-ft & 46kg lighter. I actually think it can be classified as a supercar seeing as I think it can be rivals with the car in the next challenge.

Challenge 2: ZR1-v-Porsche Carrera GT

Pretty sexy super/hypercar but with hella less torque & a top speed of a look-alike limited top speed of 205mph, I thought it would be a lot better. Performance stats:

Power: ZR1: 620bhp CGT: 605bhp
Torque: ZR1: 595lb-ft CGT:437 lb.ft
Hopefully they can post 0-60mph times & top speed figures soon but then again, the ZR1 was designed & has the torque of a muscle car & muscle cars tend to be slow, like the Mustang, a bit more power than the prevoius M3 but it's top speed is 150mph & the M3 without the limiter, could possibly do >170mph.

What do you think? Can this muscle/supercar mix in with 1 of the best known supercars in the business or will it end up like previous powerhouse muscle cars?

Thy Ps3 Has Finally Arrived At The Mika's House

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! I gots a PS3 & I've been playing TDU on PS2 for most of today cos it has the best online play than any game where you can drive you're car around in free roam as well as challenge other people in whatever car they have.

Unfortunately there ain't no slots for a PS2 memory card & it's much better on XBox 360 or PC where you can have errari's like the Enzo, F430, 288 GTO, 550 & 575 Maranello & the certain cars rev dials e.g. the Enzo's red dial whereas in the PS2 you get this weird 1 & you can only play automatic on PS2 where you can have the optional manual on the others.

I am currently downloading the Gran Turismo HD Concept V2.0 which I started downloading earlier today & thought it would download while I played games but turns out 60% has downloaded (420MB/690MB) & it's 10:20PM!

I also gots NFS: Pro Street & FIFA 08. FIFA is very hard butalot better than the PS2 version & I'm flying through my NFS career. I'm best at drift as it's very easy, grip is easy too but I keep wrecking my car, the worst I'm at is drag races but here are my current cars:
Grip: Mitsubishi Evo IX MR
Drift: Mazda RX-7
Speed: E43 BMW M3
Drag: Dodge Viper SRT10

The only problem is that I got an ethernet wire so that I can play people online but on Pro Street it does'nt seem to work but here are the following cars they brought in & got rid of from NFS Carbon.
If they're highlighted in bold, they can't be bought from the car lot:

Added: New E92 M3, Evo X, Nissan GTR Protoype & R35 production version, Nissan 240SX, '69Chevy Corvette Stingray, C6, Camaro Concept (featured in Transformers) aswell as Pontiac Solstice GXP, Honda Civic, & new Civic Si, NSX, new Audi TT 3.2 quattro, S3, S4, RS4, VW Golf GTi, Porsche 911 turbo, GT2, Infiniti G35, '03 Ford Mustang GT, new Shelby GT500, '90's Mitsubishi Eclipse, Pagani Zonda F (fastest & most expensive car in the game, before tuning it) etc.

Scrapped: Mercedes SLR McLaren, SL65 AMG, CLK 500, Porsche Carrera GT, Lambo Gallardo, original Murcielago, Chrysler 300C SRT8, Alfa Brera, Audi Le Mans quattro, Aston DB9, Renault Clio V6, etc.

If you have the PS3 & might have a few other PS2 games that I have or if you gots NFS: Pro Street or FIFA 08 gimme you're username (here or PM) & I'll add you.

Can't wait for the cars going on production for next year like the BMW M3, Ferrari F430 Scuderia & the upgraded Dodge Viper which will have 600bhp & 560lb-ft of torque which is fantastic compared to the current 1 with 500bhp coming from a huge 8.3litre V10. There's also a new Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X which looks sweet, the Nissan GT-R with a twin-turbo V6 producing 476bhp & many new AMG Mercedes models with the new 6.2 litre engines replacing the 5.4's & my favourite Porsche 911, the GT2.
