The Future Of F1

After today's fantastic Grand Prix, I believe it is certain that we will see young Lewis Hamilton as the champion. I think this scenario makes for a very interesting future of F1. Firstly, Lewis Hamilton will now become a legend, and will receive ultimate status at McLaren, as he is popular, marketable, and beat his more experienced champion. If McLaren continues on this strong, Lewis will be a champion for many years to come. However, what does this mean for Fernando? It appears he has lost fair and square and his reputation is clearly hurt; though I'm sure his fans will find some way to defend him as they always do. Those b#####ds . Now Fernando will be full of complaints and excuses, but also, he has to ponder his future. If Lewis has number 1 on his car next year, as he should, Fernando will probably have to play second fiddle to Lewis, perhaps taking on a role like Tony Kanaan at Andretti Green...the veteran who sets up the cars, but then gets beaten by his teammates. This will not please Alonso as there is no doubt he could win more championships. I think Fernando's departure will happen, regardless of what Fernando says. He said he wanted to stay and is praising McLaren simply because he wants them to give him better cars than Lewis. If they believe he's loyal and committed, it might give him better status there. Alas, it hasn't seemed to work, and now that he has lost, he will turn to other options...but where? Renault is a big if, as sponsor money and car performance might not be there. Ferrari is a big no...although Kimi and Massa haven't been the champions they were expected to be, both drivers performed solidly, led Ferrari to the constructors title, and you can't really judge their performance as there was a lot of bad luck and with the McLaren spy saga, the performance of the MP4-22 to the F2007 is really questionable. Therefore, Felipe and Kimi will stay. I think Alonso's going to be stuck in his own hell next year, and it should make for a great season of crafty rule-bending, whining, and lame excuses.
