spiral.out 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2015 Less testing next year! Oh, wait a minute.... http://www.pitpass.com/54306/Testing-seriously-reduced-in-2016
Emmcee 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2015 So in other words teams won't be able to close the gap to merc so another stale season next year. These guys don't give a fvck do they? Why even have a survey? How will other teams be able to catch up?
maure 1 Report post Posted July 22, 2015 Perhaps it should be made public just how expensive it is to have a testing session and then compare that against not having it, that is, against what the teams are forced to do to make up for that one session. I say this because the impression given is that taking out testing session amounts to net savings, as if testing is some gratuitous activity without a purpose or goal but of great expense. And, btw, why are testing sessions held in exotic locations around the world? Most teams are based in Europe and there are plenty of fine tracks out there. rodders47 2 Report post Posted July 22, 2015 just a thought! why not have an EXTRA day of Practise/Testing at each race track ?? The cost would be very small as everything is already there?
Emmcee 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2015 Just let it return to how it used to be. Ferrari have there own test track and all they have to do is put the engine in the back of a sportscar and the avoid the penalties, they have done it before. It strikes me as to why others don't do this.
spiral.out 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2015 Teams are gonna spend what they want to spend, so let them spend it how the heck they want, its not rocket science. Stop spending in one area they will spend in another how do these people not understand that?

Stop spending in one area they will spend in another how do these people not understand that? Exactly, these simulators cost a fortune. Mark webber said the Redbull simulator was worth like 12 mill and they would update it frequently so it probably costs more than actually running the car at the circuit. maure 1 Report post Posted July 23, 2015 A devious mind would then say that the true objective of the limitation in testing sessions is to hurt the small teams as they cannot afford the alternatives (simulators, etc).

Emmcee 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2015 A devious mind would then say that the true objective of the limitation in testing sessions is to hurt the small teams as they cannot afford the alternatives (simulators, etc). Of course it is. Bernie wants an all manufacturers championship, which means teams that can fully fund themselves at the complete top and be competitive. Then when asked about this transparent scheme he comes back with the age old answer "smaller teams make formula one" just to make everyone happy until the perfect time to strike. Just look at manor, because they folded, Bernie refused to give the team the extra funding they are entitled to get from bianchis sublime drive in Monaco last year. Fair enough if the team was gone for good but they pushed hard to come back and did so before the season started yet refused to pay them the money that they are entitled to. That extra funding would have gone the extra mile for a small team like that but instead Bernie just tightens the grip. No different from that FIFA president, a bloody fraud and scumbag. Mark webber said the Redbull simulator was worth like 12 mill and they would update it frequently so it probably costs more than actually running the car at the circuit. It does cost more than running the car, by an order of magnitude, and RBR's isn't even the most advanced of the team's simulator setups. It's also not always accurate, it's running by approximations, and they don't nessecarily translate into the real world. Actual testing would be both cheaper and give more accurate data. Emmcee 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2015 Exactly, these simulators won't represent the bumps and exact grip levels that actual driving the circuit can achieve.
