Mercedes have also launched their new website for the team:www.mercedes-gp.com seems to be running very slowly at the moment given the extra traffic on the site.

I no like it that much.

And its very weird looking at Michael in white/silver overalls. But still happy he's back.

It's still precious.

I like the colour scheme personally, quite simple, but effective. It's difficult really to tell that much though with the dark background and a silver car, I think we'll only really be able to tell when the car hits the track.

Change of plans for the first day of testing of the new MGP W01. Another play of the mind games from Michael perhaps??? :eusa_think: Or are we just reading too much into it all.

This is what Ross Brawn had to say:

Quote

"What we want to try and do is give both drivers a drive on the first day. The first day is about checking the car and inspecting all the pieces - and there will be several strip downs of critical parts.

"So during that period we will swap drivers and we want both drivers to get a run in the car on the first day to give us their impressions. Nico will probably do the second day and Michael the third day. But it will be split on the first day."

Mercedes have gone for the brushed aluminum, light silver reminiscent of the original silver arrows of the 1950's. Nice touch.

Not quite sure about the black splash on the engine cover though :eusa_think:

Two things hit me, first it does look a bit like the old West McLaren liery, and two, the pictures are awful. Have to wait to see the real 2010 car on track to make a judgement.
It just doesn't shout Mercedes, does it. Understated logos.

The car looks ugly!

Probably it'll be nicer on the tarmac.

Funny you mentioned that Abbas, I floated the idea a couple of days ago in the Launch dates thread. Good you also think that it would be a good idea at the very least for testing. Then have a livery launch of their own before Bahrain to take some of the media attention off MGP and the return of some German ex World Champion driving for them!!! :naughty:

Yeah I agree, the silver paint is some specialized paint that should have an effect given sunlight, will be interesting to see if that’s the case come Monday...

Lovely livery! (Well, the Petronas-green is kind of fugly)
Will Schu's helmet be bright orange as when he tested the GP2? Still so weird to see a non-red Schumacher... :D

Merc's 2010 car unveiled.

Not too happy about the livery, the Petronas green is fugly, as the lovely Elgo said. Still Schu's orange helmet makes for a nice contrast against the car.

Looks like a poor man's McLaren. Sorry.

And I think it was a nice gesture from Michael letting Nico show up almost as if Rosberg was considered a human being, too.

They are so similar it would be hard to say which is which if you swap liveries. Lap time will tell who is who.
