Here is McLaren's 2013 car. Or is it their 2012 car? Certainly looks like it...

The sidepod and rear end are completely different. Though the lines from the sidepod to the the exhaust looks similar to last year's.

Given that the MP4-27 was probably the fastest car of 2012, an evolutionary approach would be a wise one (taking into consideration the push for 2014 regs onwards). Glad they took a risk with pullrod suspension. Keeps the challenge fresh and allows a lower center of mass.

And glad to see no stepped nose, though it seems to have grown higher than last year

There's suggestions they've got that Vanity whatever cover on...

Nice summary though, in line with the James Allen's analysis

We keep on working, we do our thing, Vettel shouts over the team radio,We are who we are!

"Vettel is a champion. That’s not referring to his achievements, but rather to his approach to everything he does. He wins. All the time. His preparation is meticulous, his attention to detail reminiscent of Michael Schumacher at his peak, and his performance on the track is almost always flawless. Vettel is capable only of domination. He knows no other way... Vettel is not in Formula One to be liked. He is there to win. And in the words of Ayrton Senna, perhaps the greatest of all Formula One drivers, “Nice men don’t win.”"

Barge board wings gone, different exhaust position, wing end plates modified, strange person next to Button....day glow red (not sure if that is an improvement over the Lotus red or not...I think red paint will be a major talking point for the cars this year!!)

Apparently more impressive to people who are knowledgeable enough to know whether to be impressed or not, than the Lotus was. And relax.

The only difference I saw between this one and 2012 is that Lewis seems a little too pale.

"On the rare occasions that I play a racing game I often think ‘you know what this needs? A boss battle or two.’ A Formula One game in which, suddenly, everybody else has a monster truck and their sole desire is to squash you. A street racing game with a tank or two blowing the roads and buildings to bits. A Nascar game with a track that occasionally bends to the right" (Adam Smith - RPS)

I see plenty of differences, as The Shadow and Handy pointed out.

They weren't going to do anything radical.  The car won the final two races of the season and were on track to win Abu Dhabi the round before that.  It was arguably the best car by year's end in many areas.

Like any other car, I look forward to seeing it race.

I'd like to see title #2 for Jenson.  Let's hope this car goes as good as it looks.
