Rather like the new livery, even if it does remind me somewhat of a HRT...

More liek halfway between an HRT and a Macca. Nice car!

Will never understand why so many teams used white as their main color in the past. Made the cars look like expensive toilet appliances.

and I have concluded that after having seen just stepped noses for a yearPosted Image

Definitely my favorite snout so far.  Hülkenberg will do some nice things this year, I bet, which will take some attention off all the things his teammate won't do.

I just know that I like it, it looks pretty good, this season might actually be better than last one according to the look of the new cars, let's hope that the change in the new Pirelli is not a season spoiler.

Kimi Raikkonen: It is the same thing that I said before. I have no interest in driving for a bad team next year. If I race here, I always try to finish as high as I can. I don't need anything to motivate me. If I drive, I drive to do my best and that is it.

I just always end up disagreeing with you guys because of all the huge exaggerations, myths, theories & unjustified statements

Lewis Hamilton:
I never go with expectations, I go with a target. That is to be at the front, and the ultimate aim to win, which is the mentality I have always gone racing with.
You've got to be on the limit all the time - and I love that, because that's how I love to race.

The most significant thing is the sidepod. If sauber pull this off, it could be exciting indeed for the 2013 season. So much reduced drag, but will it produce as much downforce as the others? Cooling will be key as well

Would reduced drag cause more brake wear?  I'm only just starting to even try to understand things (and it's not going well ), so excuse me if I'm totally missing the point.

2 things slow a car's acceleration, namely mass (weight) & aerodynamic drag. Think of a car as a submarine travelling through water and you're halfway there. An ideal speed machine has very low drag (think drag racers), but to stick to the ground during corners you need wings and other surfaces to generate downforce.

The sauber's sidepod design will surely reduce drag due to it being less obtrusive to passing air, but the other teams use the increased surface area to help generate downforce. The key (no pun intended) to their design is to reduce drag without compromising the generated downforce available. In their case, I figure that with less obstruction, the air does not have to be so drastically channeled to the rear diffuser (the angle of the airflow would be less steep). Time will tell whether their solution works or not, but I'd find this a very interesting idea, and much more of an innovation than seen on the mclaren, which looks like a likely frontrunner (at this point in time)

In a technical sense reduced aero drag will increase brake wear, though a very minute amount.

The nose looks predatory, as has been mentioned. The color scheme reminds me of some team's pre-season colours a couple of years ago (Lotus?) that turned into something completely different for season start -.-'

That was a marshal (or was it the driver???) getting run over...if I recall correctly, he was going to the assistance of a F1 driver  (can't remember who now), and then he got hit by the ambulance...
..or maybe I'm just thinking of Nakijima hitting the marshal....

All back in the late 70s or early 80's

Its was the driver, but those side pods could be the next big thing and what makes it even better is that its very hard to copy because they would need a new chassis. Nice job Sauber!
I remember that article in F1 racing with Lotus and that they wouldn't bring out a new item on their car that was impossible to copy.

The av pic looks vey small in my computer but I think that one is from mid 90s when Taki Inoue got ran over by the ambulance. One of F1 funniest moments, even if Taki got a fractured bone from it. So silly. Well...Taki wasn't exactly the sharpest toothpick in the pack. He was slow even for crashing.

EDIT: Found the video. IT's definitely him.
