Caterham have produced another brick...although they call it an evolution of last years car...so I guess that makes it a Hebel brick?

Wonder what the tie in with Airbus is?

A brick from any other angle is still a brick....with a down pipe for an air intake.... :P

At least they have the little turning vanes above the radiator intakes...I guess that is a step in the right direction

Air Asia fleet uses Airbus exclusively. I'm guessing, but it may be part of the deal when they placed an order for 200 A320's several months back

Bit of a pointless sponsorship then, if that is the case...essentially he gets a discount on his planes for a sticker on a car that could have been sold for more to someone else....

...i'd only be intersted in a deal like that if i got to use Airbus' technical resources....that is worth a sticker on the car.

They know about aerodynamics as they build some of the most advance commercial airplanes in the world today.

Kimi Raikkonen: It is the same thing that I said before. I have no interest in driving for a bad team next year. If I race here, I always try to finish as high as I can. I don't need anything to motivate me. If I drive, I drive to do my best and that is it.
jemstride:
"I get the feeling that Alonso fans tend to heap over-praise on Alonso and bring down Kimi whenever they can, with mere theories and unjustified statements."
I just always end up disagreeing with you guys because of all the huge exaggerations, myths, theories & unjustified statements

Lewis Hamilton:
I never go with expectations, I go with a target. That is to be at the front, and the ultimate aim to win, which is the mentality I have always gone racing with.
You've got to be on the limit all the time - and I love that, because that's how I love to race.

That green is nice.

A lot of sponsorships function in the same way the Airbus/Caterham one does.  The GE partnership is also a consequence of AirAsia stuff.  I want to say GE supplies engines, software, and consulting.

Tracing the logos on the cars to their origins can be a lot of fun.  We've gotten into the habit of thinking every word on a car is a mere exchange for cash.  One guy in the U.S. uses his IndyCar team for the sole purpose of lowering his taxes; someone's doing something similar in NASCAR.  Tons of stuff going on in sponsorship and I'm sure F1, as it always does, would have the most intrigue if you really looked into what's what.

Speaking of which...

Watching the close ups on the Ferrari made me notice the companies' logos as well. Many of them have been around for ages (Like Magneti Marelli, SKF, Shell, etc.

So, here's my question: which one is the OLDEST sponsor in F1?

"Great drivers are the ones who win the races they're not supposed to" - K.Chandhok

"On the rare occasions that I play a racing game I often think ‘you know what this needs? A boss battle or two.’ A Formula One game in which, suddenly, everybody else has a monster truck and their sole desire is to squash you. A street racing game with a tank or two blowing the roads and buildings to bits. A Nascar game with a track that occasionally bends to the right" (Adam Smith - RPS)

Would have to be an oil company, or Dunlop...one of the two...

My fave of the 2013 launches. That luscious glossy green is beautiful. Much better than the flat green they used last year! :)
