I saw by myself since 1992:
1993, 1997, 2003, 2005 - are 4 best.
i need time to compare them and to rank as 1st-2nd-3rd.
and since i was born (1979) are:
79, 81, 86, 87, 89, 90 - again need time to compare to rank 1-2-3 of it.

1997 was a mighty year if I may say so myself  ;)

"You just don't mess with Jacques Villeneuve" - Murray Walker, 1997 Hungarian GP.
"When Jacques was with us, he was a very aggressive driver, fiercely competitive, mentally hard as nails. Very quick with it, very gifted. A bright fellow, undoubtedly, very intelligent. He was an absolutely born racing driver - look at the way he'd bang wheels with Michael, pass people on the outside, that kind of thing" -Sir Frank Williams on Jacques Villeneuve
"This year, with BMW, JV's going very well, and I'm pleased for him. Whether or not he'll get a drive next year I don't know, but I hope he does, he's an unusual, and very strong addition to the F1 community. A character." - Sir Frank Williams again on Jacques Villeneuve
The Nojvnof1 2006 driver lineup - Jacques Villeneuve, Nico Rosberg, Christian Klein, Scott Speed.

If that’s your criteria for a great season, you would have loved 1986.

They were good years, not particularly for myself as a Damon Hill fan, although the 1996 champion did put in some mega drives at Hungary 97 and Belgium 98.  The championship was very open in 1997 and 1998 and went down to the wire in both seasons and what great final races they were!

indeed, even if you don't mention the fact that the real flying finn (MIKA) had opposition from Ferrari and fended both of their drivers off for the title in consecutive years final races.

I think of recent seasons, 97, 98 and 05 all rate highly, 97 and 98 just ahead.

I liked 2000-2004 because of the Ferrari wins etc too, but I liked the 2 above more.

I re-iterate that I have only watched in full the 2000 season up to now and vividly remember watching parts from '96 to '99 (especially Imola 1999) even though I must of been quite small then. The best season for me has to have been 2000. I think that was the only season where in this decade apart from 2005 Ferrari couldn't have said they were most dominant. They admitted they were slower in the three grand prix before America and that had been the case. Schumacher for once never had a points advantage and Mika led 2 points into Japan but for the first ever time, the Schumacher-Ferrari partnership kicked into gear no doubt also thanks to Rubens Barrichello.

I find myself believing a little bit more in him. I want him to do well. Come on JV, show us a bit of the old magic.

i would say my favorite season was '99, it was the first year i really watched F1 and the fight between Mika and Schumi was great, too bad Schumi had to loose. but it was still really fun to watch, i remember the last race, so close

I think I may have to be abit nicer to Button now

Seeing some more JV magic would be nice, seeing JV at full tilt for one more season. As for his '97 season, he was very good, but he made quite a few mistakes. He was at his finest in 1999 and even more so in 2000, he was sublime!

For me this was one of the best seasons ever! Pure racing: Hakkinen vs MS in cars of around the same speed....the good old days!

The season he is refering to is '98-'99-----pumpdoc/mod
