In 1958 Fangio decided to retire. His explanation for that was unique:

Fangio: "I came to test my car and after a few laps struggling with my `cache` I asked to my engineer: What did you change in the car?"
The engineer: "the shock absorbers. Why? They pay us to use..."
Fangio: "..so I realize that my time was come. I was the one that were in danger at the track, how could they change anything without asking me before? That was not the sport I like...besides that I'm too old...".
He was 47 and very quick yet...

Its horrid, it looks a mess and the livery designers need to be sacked for this poor attempt at a livery!! It is absolutely hideous

They will be easily identifiable. I wish BAR had used 555 for 1999, their cars would have looked pimp.

Agreed.  The need to carry the nose color onto the sidepods and then change it yellow.  I would also suggest they move the JVC logo onto the sidepod and whatever the hell is on the sidepod can be moved up onto the engine cowling.   IF they then changed the engine cowling to Yellow to reflect the teams tradition, it would start to come together.

I don't know what Senna is going on about.  These minor changes I mentioned would make it striking :lol:

It is a positively hideous beast.   Quite revolting.  Quite unlike the lovely FW19

The sun light is changing the color from metalic gray (silver). Ther red part are cool. But anyway it could have been much better.

That was a Beautiful car.  I always liked the old Marlboro McLarens as well.  Something about them says F1.  The Midland car just doesn't have the look.

Indeed.  MF1’s new livery is one of the ugliest I’ve ever seen, I can’t decide whether it’s worse than the BAR 01 or not though…
